Describe your blog in fifteen words or less:
A record of many trials and tribulations using skincare and makeup products.
Why did you start your blog?
I try endless amounts of skincare and makeup, so starting a blog seemed like a fun thing to do and give me a creative outlet. I also wanted to document my skin’s progress for anyone out there going through the same skin struggle as I have. I’ve been break-out prone since I was 12, and had awful cystic acne 5 years ago that left me with a lot of scarring that still hasn’t faded. By sharing some real unflattering, unedited before/after photos, I hope that anyone reading my content doesn’t feel alone, and believes that clear, healthy skin is possible!
What do you love posting about on your blog?
Skincare. On top of trying skincare products and reviewing them, I love reading about how the skin works, key ingredients, new ingredients, scanning ingredients lists. I always want to share what I learn with my readers and the positive results I have (it’s always satisfying to look back on progress photos).
What is your favourite post?
If I had to choose, my favourite post as of late is REVIEW: Banish Acne Scars Banish Starter Kit. I really expose myself in that post and show up close before/after photos of the scarring I have on my face (breakouts included) after trying at-home dermarolling. I did say my blog was to show unflattering, unedited pictures!
What is your #1 tip for others looking to start a beauty blog?
Do it because it’s your passion and it’s fun for you. You’ll find spending your time writing about your interests to be well worth it and will open up opportunities that you’ll actually be excited about. Having a creative outlet is important, so make sure you’re investing your time, money and emotions to something that fuels your happiness.
